Dance Dem @ Lions Fete - April 08: 27 Jive Alive dancers did a dem at the Lion's Fete in Padbury on 9th April 2008.

Breakfast at Bickley: Twenty-three of us went along to The Packing Shed Restaurant at Bickley for brekkie on Sunday 22nd June 2008. This event was organised by Kay and Gordon, and was a huge success. The setting was magical, filled with character, and toasty warm on a cold morning. We started off with a very social coffee or tea, which allowed everyone to mix and get to know others from class. After a scrumptious brekkie, people moved around and the noise level rose considerably with the jokes and conversation. All in all, a tremendous success, with people coming away feeling as though they had a full tummy and got to know each other just a little bit better.

Social Nights: Simona's Social Nights are held at the end of every six week set. They are the opportunity for everyone, but especially the newer dancers, to implement their new-found knowledge and skills. We play cds, and to cater for jive, line dancing, progressive and a couple of other styles of dancing. Guildford Town Hall, 8 pm gold coin entry. Bring your own liquid refreshments plus a small plate of nibbles to share on the communal table. Tea and coffee provided.

Celebrations: Celebrations at Jive Alive. Ray's 80th and 81st birthdays; Elaine's 50th birthday; Jive Alive's 5th birthday!!; Coral's birthday 09;

Sunday nights: A favourite venue for a number of our people is the Maylands Peninsula Golf Club on a Sunday night for a great meal and a dance between 5.00 pm and 8.30 pm.

Pizza Night: We enjoyed a Pizza Night on Friday 22nd August at Coral and Ivor's home. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know one another outside of class.

End of Year BBQ: On Friday 19th December 2008 we held our end of year BBQ in Coral and Ivor's picturesque garden. A good time was had by all.

Dem at Altone Park: A group of our dancers did a dem at the Open Day and Multi-cultural Day at Altone Park on Saturday 4th April 2009. Thanks to everyone for a terrific turn out and a job well done.

Dance Classes: We run our classes at Guildford Town Hall on a Tuesday night and at Kingfisher Community Centre on a Wednesday night.

Avon Descent Dem Aug. 09: Jive Alive staged a number of dance demonstrations throughout the day at the Shire of Swan Family Day.

New Year's Eve Party 2009: The picturesque setting of Coral and Ivor's garden was the ideal place to relax, dance, and chat. As usual, the food was tempting, the company was terrific and the dance floor was fantastic. The evening was a great success.

Jan 10 BBQ @ Roy & Elaine's: Roy and Elaine kindly hosted a BBQ for us in their tropical paradise. It was terrific to see such a good turn out. There was a good mix of long time Jive Alivers as well as a number of people reasonably new to our classes. As usual, the food was great, the venue fantastic and the company magic.

BBQ @ Bassendean June 2010: We had a cosy BBQ at Coral and Ivor's home in Bassendean. The setting was wonderful,the fires kept us warm, the company and music was terrific. Needless to say, the food was scrumptious. A few photos for you to see that men CAN cook the meat, chat AND smile for the camera!!

Week 6 Social Nights: On Week 6 we do a revision of the previous set and work on the current set. We then do a number of progressive and line dances as well as social jive dancing. At approximately 9 pm we take a break and enjoy some liquid refreshment and nibbles (or perhaps something from Alfred's Kitchen for the Guildford group). The progressive, line and social dancing continues and Improvers have a short revision of previous and current set.
